As we humans have different types of personalities, horses do too… In our stable it’s almost like in a fairytale. You will find the Queen herself, a noble Prince and a teenage Princess also, and even a couple of Jokers.
The first of our Portuguese stallions is a true prince charming. His name is “ESPALHAFATO”, which in Portuguese means something like “guy who likes to show off”, and he sure does! When you enter our stable, the most beautiful horse in the world is greeting you. Just the look of him will take your breath away for a moment, and once in the arena he can dance like a true latino. He is broken late and now 7 years of age, educated at the moment to medium dressage level, but also a fast learner, so we expect our prince charming to be probably soon dancing on an even higher level.
Next to him in the stable is his one-year younger full brother “FERIADO” – meaning “Holiday” in Portuguese. He is a true and noble knight, always trustful and work willing, andhe alsois always greeting people with lots of love. He is the type of horse, who is always giving you a fun time riding, and he brings a smile to your face even on a cloudy day. He is also working at medium dressage level.
“GOLIAS”(Goliath) is the last and youngest of the Portuguese stallions. This 5-year-oldloves every minute together with people – guests, riders and stable workers. He is our hope for the future, a great mover in all three gaits, and he has the ability to dance like a true dressage horse. He is for now only educated to basic level, but is always trying his best, and he will surely one day be a perfect riding partner.
Our true Danish Queen at the farm is named“DIVA”, and it sure fits her. 11 years old and standing at 173 cm, she is both the oldest and the biggest of our horses. Diva is born in Denmark, and the breed is “Danish Warmblood”. She sees and hears everything, and she even controls the stable, including all the people in it, our other Danish mare, and the four Lusitano stallions. Diva is educated to Grand Prix level, mastering all the dressage exercises. She has a sensitive temper, but for the a little more experienced rider she is a very capable training partner, and one you definitely will be able to learn a lot from. She will teach you how to give the right signals and improve your seat while riding, you will surely enjoy her way above average talent for the piaff/passage, and she is almost always in a good mood and love when her people are petting and grooming her in the stable.
Queen Diva is always closely followed by her best and most loyal friend, “FIONA”, also a Danish Warmblood mare at 5 years of age. Fiona is trying to become more like the Queen, but it is sometimes tough to be “the teenage princess at the castle”. Neither her eyes nor ears are missing a thing, but her mind and work ethics are good though, and even she is loving and very kind. She is due to her young age not yet fully educated, but she shows great potential and will surely get there some day. Already in this age she is mastering most of the exercises at medium dressage level, and is she is a true supple and modern ladies horse, giving the rider a great feeling of swing and elasticity.
